About the Course
Money Management 101 Course is developed by our partner, German Sparkassenstiftung for International Cooperation (DSIK). This course will help you increase your financial knowledge and form better behaviors to manage your income. We will introduce various tools and good techniques that will help you cope with financial pressure and realize your financial goals during the course.

Please find below the detailed content description of each unit.
Unit 1: Income and Expenses
We will distinguish necessary and optional as well as regular and irregular expenses and discuss how to prepare for irregular expenses.
Unit 2: Financial Pressure
Financial pressure can happen to anyone. We will discuss how to prepare and cope with financial pressure stress.
Unit 3: Tracking Income and Expenses
Tracking income and expenses helps better manage money and, thus, to avoid financial pressure. We will give some examples of how you can track your income and expenses.
Unit 4: Analyzing monthly Cash Flow
Analyzing your monthly cash flow helps you to do better financial planning. We will talk you through the following ratios as tools to assess your cash flow:
- Savings to Income Ratio
- Debt to Income Ratio
- Necessary Expenses to Income Ratio
Unit 5: Setting Financial Goals
We will distinguish short, medium, and long-term goals and introduce the SMART principle for setting goals. Once you have identified your financial goals, we will talk about how to prioritize financial goals.
Unit 6: Making a budget
A budget assists you in achieving your financial goals. In this unit, we will discuss the following questions:
- What is a budget?
- How to monitor your budget?
- What is a budget deficit? And how to avoid it?
- What are the benefits of doing budgeting?
Unit 7: Implementing the budget
To comply with your budget can be challenging. We will talk about obstacles that might arise and good practices we can adopt to make it easier to stay within the budget.
Requirements
There are no requirements to take this course. Everyone interested in improving money management can join.
Certificate
There will be a final test with 10 questions at the end of the course. As a student, you are required to achieve 80% or more (8 correct answers or more) in order to earn the certificate.
